I was thinking about the northern lights today and the mystique that surrounds them. It’s a fitting thought for the kind of magic that we experience at this time of year, and yet, I wonder if this year will be more magical, more difficult or both.
Learning how to be patient when I really want to resume normal life is, for me, critical to finding a way through the strangeness of this pandemic. I’ve found myself this week – even as we launched the first single from Aurora 12 – relaxing into a quieter pace of life, finally.
The magic inherent in the natural world is still a mystery to me, but there’s one thing I believe to be true – nature is good for us and it helps us to heal. How? Nature teaches us many things about the world around us and about ourselves. It allows us to reflect on things that are unique to each of us, yet provides a universal truth that is a part of all of us.
Indigenous Elders often share stories about the Aurora Borealis around this time of year. Their words have been shared through many generations. The lights represent the spirits of the past and they continue to lift our spirits today. We feel joy just by gazing up at them and some say they can even hear them as they dance in the northern night sky.
I hope Aurora Borealis has captured the mystique of the northern lights. She’s a beautiful mystery and I hope you feel her magic this holiday season and join in her dance!
Aurora Borealis and the rest of Aurora 12 is now available in our website store.
